Archbishop Savva celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the day of remembrance of Bl. Agafia Kushelovskayatranslated

On June 22, on the day of memory of Blessed Agathia Kushelovskaya, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary led the service of the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Tiraspol. His Eminence was co-served by the clergy of the Vozdvizhensky parish and the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ.

On this day, the clergy and numerous believers offered prayers to the Lord, prayerfully honoring the memory of one of the most revered ascetics of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, glorification was performed before the image of Blessed Agathia Kushelovskaya, after which the Ruling Bishop addressed the flock with a word of archpastoral edification, recalling the importance of humility, patience and unceasing prayer in the life of every Christian.

Blessed Agafia was born in the village of Pesetsel, Baltic region, into the pious family of Ivan and Evdokia Maranchuk. From an early age she was distinguished by a special love for prayer and a desire for spiritual life. According to a surviving legend, one day, trying to catch up with her parents who had gone on a pilgrimage to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, the girl fell into a deep abandoned well and received severe injuries to both legs.
