Archbishop John took part in the celebrations on the day of memory of the Venerable Manefa of Gomeltranslated

The name of Venerable Manefa of Gomel is well known to the believers of the Gomel region. People turned to her for advice and prayer during her lifetime, and they continue to turn to her today - with their worries, illnesses, family concerns and requests for help. On August 11, the Church prayerfully honors the memory of the ascetic, whose life passed through difficult years for believers, but retained the main thing - loyalty to God and attention to man.

On the day of remembrance of Venerable Manefa of Gomel, August 11, 2026, archpastors, clergy, monastics, residents and guests of the city gathered in the Peter and Paul Cathedral of Gomel. The Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.

At the walls of the cathedral, the Primate of the Belarusian Orthodox Church was met by archpastors, clergy and believers. Metropolitan Veniamin was welcomed to Gomel land by the Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Vadimovich Aleinikov and the Chairman of the Gomel City Council of Deputies Aleksina Elena Ivanovna.
