Archbishop Calinic of Arges and Muscel consecrated a 23-meter cross on a hill under the Iezer-Păpușa Massiftranslated

On Sunday, before the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Archbishop Calinic of Arges and Muscel consecrated a 23-meter-high cross built on Ciuha Hill in Voinești, commune Lerești. The imposing cross, situated at the summit near the foothills of the Iezer-Păpușa Mountains, becomes thus a landmark for the region of Muscel.
"This day, this monument offers an breathtaking 360-degree view over Lerești, Voinești, Câmpulung, and the peaks of Mateiașului, while at night, the modern automated lighting system transforms it into a luminous spiritual beacon visible for tens of kilometers," local authorities representatives reported on Facebook.
"It is a magnificent tribute to both soldiers and civilians who have given their lives for our freedom."
