The Archbishop of Buzău and Vrancea honors his spiritual protectortranslated

His Holiness Father Cyprian, Archbishop of Buzău and Vrancea, honors Saint Cyprian of Carthage, his spiritual protector, on Sunday.
The Holy Martyr Cyprian, Bishop of Carthage, was born around 210 into a wealthy pagan family and converted to Christianity in 245. He became bishop of Carthage in 249, notable for his concern for church discipline, the reintegration of those who had fallen from the faith, and helping those in distress.
During the persecution of the emperor Valerian he was exiled, then sentenced to death and executed by sword on September 14, 258. He is considered one of the great Fathers of the Church and an important theologian of Christian ecclesiology.
Biography of the hierarch Archbishop Ciprian was born on April 19, 1965, in the village of Suhulet, Iași county, receiving the name Caesar at baptism. She attended primary school in her native village, and secondary school in Ciocârlia de Jos commune, Constanța county. He continued with the first degree at the "Mihai Eminescu" Philology-History High School in Constanța and then with the Theological Seminary in Buzău (1982–1987).
