Archaeologists from Buzău discovered an intact Dacian spearhead, over 2,000 years oldtranslated

Archaeologists from Buzău have discovered, in the Cârlomănești-Cetătuia site, an intact Dacian spearhead, over 2,000 years old.

The piece, with a length of 36 centimeters, is the first of its kind identified so far in the settlement researched by specialists.

The discovery was made during the archaeological campaign carried out this year in Cârlomănești-Cetătuia, a site systematically researched since 1968.

The representatives of the museum said in a post on the institution's Facebook page that the spearhead is special in that it has been completely preserved: "Such objects are very rare in Dacian settlements."

The condition of the artifact allows researchers to analyze in detail its shape and characteristics, being identified in the first half of the 1st century BC, a period roughly associated with the reign of King Burebista.

Artifact restoration The spearhead is to be restored and studied before being shown to the public. The representatives of the Buzău County Museum intend to include it in an exhibition dedicated to recent archaeological discoveries, scheduled for January 2027.
