Archbishop of Thyateira arrived at the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos on Mount Athos (VIDEO)

Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain has arrived at the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of Xenophontos on Mount Athos as representative of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for a three-day visit.

During his stay, the Ecumenical Patriarch will preside over the celebrations for the Feast of the Panagia Hodegetria (Our Lady the Guide), the Monastery’s revered icon of the Mother of God.

This year’s celebrations hold particular significance, as they coincide with the 50th anniversary of the abbatial ministry of Archimandrite Alexios, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos.
