Archbishop of Athens receives Archbishop Apostolos of Canada

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece received Archbishop-elect Apostolos of Canada on a courtesy visit on Tuesday morning.

Upon his arrival at the Archdiocese of Athens, Archbishop-elect Apostolos was welcomed by Bishop Varnavas of Christoupolis, Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese.

Archbishop Ieronymos then warmly welcomed the newly elected Archbishop and congratulated him on his election. He wished him health, strength and every blessing from God as he undertakes his new and important pastoral ministry.

Archbishop-elect Apostolos thanked Archbishop Ieronymos for the warm hospitality and his heartfelt wishes. He also assured him that he would work with dedication for the spiritual progress and well-being of the flock entrusted to his pastoral care by the Church.

During their meeting, the two hierarchs discussed issues of common ecclesiastical interest, with particular emphasis on the pastoral ministry of the Orthodox Church in the Diaspora and the challenges facing the Church in the contemporary world.
