Archbishop of America: “To vote freely and without fear is a precious right”

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America has cast his first vote as a United States citizen, describing the occasion as a deeply moving experience and encouraging Americans to participate in the upcoming midterm elections.
The elections are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, although voters in many states can cast their ballots early.
In a social media post, the Archbishop emphasized the importance of voting rights and the sacrifices made to secure them.
“To vote freely and without fear is a precious right that is still denied to many people around the world,” he stated, stressing the responsibility to preserve democratic freedoms.
Reflecting on the occasion, he wrote: “Today, I cast my first vote as a citizen of this blessed land. I am deeply moved. My heart is full of gratitude to God and to the nation that welcomed me and now calls me its own.”
Archbishop Elpidophoros encouraged Americans to vote and respect one another regardless of the election results.
“Once the votes are counted, let us go forward together with our fellow citizens, respecting one another when we disagree and living in harmony,” he urged.
Concluding his message, he recalled Thomas Jefferson’s words…
