Archbishop of America met with Kimberly Guilfoyle in Athens

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America met with United States Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic Kimberly Guilfoyle in Athens on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

During the cordial meeting, Archbishop Elpidophoros and Ambassador Guilfoyle discussed matters of shared interest, including issues concerning the Greek-American community, the ministry and international role of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and the enduring relationship between Greece and the United States.

He also provided an overview of the recent 48th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, held in Cleveland, Ohio, and the continuing efforts toward the reopening of the Theological School of Halki.
