Archbishop of Albania to celebrate name day on feast of St John the Theologian

Archbishop Ioannis of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania will celebrate his name day on Saturday, September 26, on the feast of the Repose of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian.

According to an announcement, the Divine Liturgy on the feast day will be celebrated exclusively at the Resurrection of Christ Cathedral in Tirana.

The celebration holds particular significance for the Orthodox Church of Albania, as the feast of St John the Theologian marks the name day of Archbishop Ioannis .

Orthros service will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Divine Liturgy at 8:45 a.m.

Following the Divine Liturgy, a reception will be held during which Archbishop Ioannis will receive the greetings and wishes of the faithful and others wishing to congratulate him on his name day.

The Church invited the faithful to participate in the services and join together in prayer and celebration on the occasion of the feast.
