Archbishop Nathaniel Celebrates Pentecost at the Romanian Orthodox Parish “Descent of the Holy Spirit” in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the Eighth Sunday after Pascha and the Great Feast of Pentecost, His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel celebrated the Holy and Divine Liturgy at the Romanian Orthodox Parish “Descent of the Holy Spirit” in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, on the occasion of the parish patronal feast.

The celebration began on Saturday evening, May 30, with Great Vespers, officiated by V. Rev. Protosinghelos Chesarie Bertea, Dean of the Atlantic Deanery, together with the parish priest, V. Rev. Fr. Sabin Pop, and visiting clergy, in the presence of His Eminence.

On Pentecost Sunday, His Eminence officiated the Holy and Divine Liturgy, assisted by the parish priest, V. Rev. Fr. Sabin Pop and Rev. Hierodeacon Benedict Oancea. The faithful gathered in prayer to celebrate the Descent of the Holy Spirit and the patronal feast of their parish.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Nathaniel thanked Fr. Sabin, the Parish President, and the entire parish community for their warm welcome, generous hospitality, and the blessed time spent together.
