Albanian Minister and Metropolitan Nathaniel Inspect Restoration Works at Historic Monasteries

Albania’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, accompanied by Metropolitan Nathaniel of Gjirokastër and Mayor Dimitrios Tolis of Dropull, visited two historic Orthodox monasteries to inspect ongoing restoration works.

The delegation inspected the restoration projects at the Monastery of the Nativity of the Theotokos in Douviani and the Monastery of the Holy Archangels, focusing on efforts to preserve and promote the region’s religious and cultural heritage.

The restoration and promotion of the Douviani Monastery are being carried out with the involvement of Albania’s Ministry of Culture, the World Monuments Fund (WMF) and Cultural Heritage without Borders Albania (CHwB Albania).
