The Romanian Academy and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, Germany, concluded on Monday the first agreement for joint research projects, in Bucharest.

The Memorandum of Understanding was initialed in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Romania, Angela Ganninger.

The agreement was concluded by Marius Andruh, president of the Romanian academic forum, and Christoph Markschies, president of the Berlin academy.

Photo credit: Romanian Academy The president of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences explained in a post on his personal Facebook page that the partnership will be oriented towards several directions of common interest, including "freedom of research in Europe, digital lexicography, sustainable chemistry and prevention, as well as the (common) history of the two countries in the context of the transformations of the 19-20 centuries".

Interesting piece of history common to the 19th-20th century. I would like to see what exactly they will look for there, because the Romanian-German relations at that time have both bright and dark pages. However, it is good that they enter both digital lexicography and sustainable chemistry.
