Starețul Mănăstirii Esphigmenou concelebrează cu mitropolitul Epifaniy la Kievtradus

La 12 iulie 2026, Arhimandritul Bartolomeu, Starețul Mănăstirii Esphigmenou de pe Muntele Athos, împreună cu frăția mănăstirii, a concelebrat Sfânta Liturghie cu Mitropolitul Epifani al Kievului și al Întregii Ucraine la Biserica Arhanghelului Mihail din Kiev.

În urma Sfintei Liturghii, Mitropolitul Epifaniy i-a primit pe stareț și pe părinții athoniți la Reședința Mitropolitană, unde cele două părți au avut o întâlnire cordială.

În timpul adunării, Întâistătătorul Bisericii Ortodoxe a Ucrainei și-a exprimat sincera mulțumire arhimandritului Bartolomeu și delegației sale însoțitoare pentru prezența lor la Kiev, pe fondul provocărilor continue cu care se confruntă țara.

Mitropolitul Epifaniy a subliniat semnificația vizitei, menționând că părinții athoniți au adus un mesaj de speranță călătorind în Ucraina, în ciuda temerilor și dificultăților cauzate de război.

„Prezența ta aici a adus o bucurie imensă și a oferit încurajare spirituală multor oameni care sunt testați zilnic”, a spus Mitropolitul Epifaniy.

În răspunsul său, arhimandritul Bartolomeu a subliniat importanța iubirii creștine, citând cuvintele Scripturii: „Iubirea perfectă alungă frica”.

It's good to see monks from Athos coming all the way to Kyiv. The quote from Archimandrite Bartholomew about perfect love casting out fear is spot on, especially with everything that's going on.

I agree, that Scripture quote really lands when you think about the long trip they made. Our parish prayer list still has several families from Ukraine on it, and hearing Athonite monks show up in person feels more concrete than another online statement. Have you followed Esphigmenou much before this?
