The program of worshiping the Icon of the Mother of God "Portărița", brought from Holy Mount Athos to the Pantocrator Monastery in Dragănești-Vlașca, Teleorman county, on the occasion of the patron saint, was extended.

According to a post on the Facebook page of the monastic establishment, pilgrims will be able to worship the holy smell and the relics of Saint Mary Magdalene until midnight on Sunday.

The icon of the Mother of God "Portărița" is one of the most famous miracle-working icons.

She was miraculously brought to the Iviron Monastery by Venerable Gavriil, who, at the urging of the Mother of God, went on water to receive her and place her in the monastery.

The name "Portărița" comes from the place where the icon is placed, namely in the chapel at the gate of the monastic settlement.

Alexandru RaduI'm glad that they extended it until midnight on Sunday, so I have time to go on Saturday evening after the race in Bucharest. I went to Iviron once a few years ago and I remembered how the icon stands right at the gate. Thank God that it also reached us at Pantocrator.
