On November 3, 2026, with the blessing of Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin, the

X-th Afanasiev intellectual tournament among students of Sunday schools of the Brest diocese.

The tournament is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.

The tournament will take place in the tapestry hall of the educational institution "Brest State Regional Center for Youth Creativity" (Brest, Moskovskaya St., 123).

The tournament starts at 10.00.

The tournament will be attended by teams from each deanery of the diocese, formed as a result of qualifying rounds in the deaneries (in September-October 2026).

Basic rules of the tournament:

⦁ The game will take place in 3 stages (all of them will take place on one day):

Stage 1 – “Storm”: 20 questions; All teams play, the leader reads out a question common to all teams, time to think about the answer is 1 minute; All teams write their answer on forms, which, after the sound signal, are collected by assistants and handed over to the jury. For each correct answer 1 point is given. The four teams with the most points advance to the next round.

Stage 2 – “Test Blitz”: 15 questions; Four teams play, each team receives a form with a test task.…
