09/29/2026 Bishop Hilarion took part in the celebrations of the Kostroma Metropolistranslated

In 2026, the Epiphany-Anastasia Monastery in the city of Kostroma celebrates its 600th anniversary.

On September 28, on the day of remembrance of St. Nikita of Kostroma, Metropolitan Ferapont of Kostroma and Nerekhta led the Divine Liturgy in the Epiphany-Anastasia Cathedral of the Epiphany-Anastasia Monastery.

Concelebrating with the Eminence Bishop were: Bishop Hilarion of Kineshem and Palekh, Bishop Alexy of Galich and Makaryevsk, Bishop Tarasy of North Sea and Umba, numerous clergy of the Kostroma Metropolis, clergy of other dioceses who arrived with the bishops, as well as a member of the College of the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism, Archimandrite Melchizedek (Artyukhin), rector of the Moscow metochion of the Vvedensky stauropegial monastery of Optina Pustyn.

At the end of the Liturgy, a prayer service was performed to glorify the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, and then glorification was performed to St. Nikita of Kostroma at the shrine over the relics of the saint.

After many years, Metropolitan Ferapont addressed those gathered and congratulated the sisters of the monastery and parishioners of the Epiphany-Anastasia Cathedral on the memory of St. Nikita and the 600th anniversary of the founding of the monastery.
