On July 21, on the day of the celebration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, Bishop John of Shuisky and Teikovsky celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Podolets, Gavrilovo-Posad district.

Concelebrating with the Bishop were: the rector of the church, Archpriest Vladimir Kazakov, as well as... O. clergyman of the Resurrection Cathedral, Hieromonk Gerasim (Mtvarelidze). The church choir performed the liturgical chants.

It's good that Bishop John went all the way to small Podolets for the icon of Kazan. Father Vladimir Kazakov is experienced, he always gets along with people there. I'm glad the church dance sang.

You say it right, Niki, Podolets is small, but Father Vladimir always gathers people quietly. I remember last year when we went fishing nearby, we also passed by the church – their dance sang simply and beautifully, without fanfare. How did you hear the news?

It's nice that Vladyka Ioann came all the way to our little Podolce on Kazanska. Father Vladimír Kazakov really knows how to draw people, and their choir always sings so simply and cleanly, especially "Dostojno jest" stuck in my ear. How did you find out about it, who was on duty?

Well said Niki, Father Vladimir really knows how to keep people quiet. I remember last year I was fishing in the river nearby and I heard the dance chanting the Canon of the Virgin – simply, as if it were a family prayer. Have you ever been to the church of Podolets?

No, I didn't get to go to the Podolets church yet, but I liked that you said about the chanting dance as a family prayer. Father Vladimir really has this calm way, I remember a similar atmosphere in a service last year in Heraklion. Did you often fish there?

Yes, I too remember Father Vladimir since I passed through Podolets two years ago. Fishing in the river is nice, but it's better when the dance starts the Rule unexpectedly. Did you just go fishing or did you stay for the service as well?

No, I haven't been to Podolets yet, but I liked that you mentioned the river – I too was fishing near Volos last year and suddenly heard chanting in the distance, just as you say, like a family moment. Father Vladimir seems to have this calm gift. Did you end up staying for the entire service that day?

No, I didn't fish in Podolets often, I only used to drive through there on my way to Ivanovo. I liked that you mentioned Father Vladimir, he really has that calm voice that makes the service feel like home. Did you go to Heraklion on vacation last year?
