09/20/2026 Metropolitan Joseph celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Assumption Cathedraltranslated

On September 20, on the Forefeast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the 16th Sunday after Pentecost, the day of remembrance of St. John, Archbishop of Novgorod, St. Macarius of Optina, St. Alexander Peresvet and Andrei Oslyabi, Metropolitan Joseph of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and Vichuga celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Assumption Cathedral in the city of Ivanovo. In the church during the service there was an icon with part of the relics of St. John, Archbishop of Novgorod.

Metropolitan Joseph read a prayer for Holy Rus' and led the praise to St. John of Novgorod.

Concelebrating with the Bishop were Hieromonk John (Pletmintsev), Hegumen Vitaly (Utkin), Protodeacon Pavel Konik, Hierodeacon Andrei (Datsko) and Deacon Alexander Lityaev.

The apostle was read by Deacon Alexander Lityaev.

The Gospel was read by Protodeacon Pavel Konik.

The service of hymns was performed by the bishop's male choir under the direction of Deacon Kirill Shtanin.

Subdeaconates were Deacon Sergius Vityazev, Filipp Rusieshvili, Andrei Filippov, Alexander Filippov, Nikolai Kalinkin, Roman Tretyak and Savva Kalashnikov.
