On July 20, on the eve of the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Metropolitan Joseph of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and Vichuga celebrated an all-night vigil in the Transfiguration Church in the city of Ivanovo.

Concelebrating with the Bishop was the rector of the Transfiguration Church, Priest Georgy Vityazev, and the clergy of this church and the Assumption Cathedral in Ivanovo.

Thank God that Vladyka Iosif served in the Transfiguration Church. Father Georgije Vityazev is a good acquaintance of ours from earlier years, I am glad that he is the abbot there. May the Lord give health to all who served.

It’s good that Vladyka Joseph served in Preobrazhenskoe. Father Georgy Vityazev once came to us in Chicago for a youth conference, I remember how he and the guys spent the whole day on the volleyball court. It's nice to see him as rector now.

Father George sure has come a long way since that Chicago youth conference. I remember watching him play volleyball with the kids too — he was tireless. Nice to see him settled as rector in Ivanov now.
