15 Years. Why Am I Annoyed at Teachers and How to Overcome It?translated

October 28, 2026 · 2 min read

Reader's Question:

Greetings. I am 15 years old. Lately, I have been experiencing a troubling state of mind. I constantly feel annoyed at all the teachers at school. When I come to class, I feel anxiety, and negative thoughts about each teacher arise. I feel a special guilt, because these are my teachers, without them I would be illiterate and have no knowledge. I very much want to get rid of these thoughts. I try to think that they work hard, are very tired, and it is difficult for them, but negative thoughts do not leave my head. I feel very bad on the inside due to these resentful feelings towards the teachers and the guilt before myself and God.

Response from the Priest:

Eugene Chebkin, Priest

Greetings, Marina.

For a person of your age, it is quite natural to experience the feelings and emotions you describe in your letter, so I urge you not to worry excessively about this. Everything will be fine!

I believe that such a state has appeared in you because sometimes it is not so easy for you to absorb the amount of information that the teachers provide in class, especially as you prepare for final exams—likely the Unified State Exam or the Unified State Final Certification Exam. To make it easier for you to cope with all this, it is necessary to take regular breaks, to study moderately, and to maintain a healthy balance in your life.

First of all, try to understand that teachers are human beings, and they also have their own difficulties and challenges. They are not perfect, and they make mistakes. Try to see them as people who are doing their best to help you.

Secondly, try to focus on the positive aspects of their work. Think about how much knowledge and skills you have gained thanks to their efforts.

Thirdly, try to cultivate a sense of gratitude. Remember that teachers are dedicated to their profession and are committed to your education.

Lastly, if you find it difficult to manage your emotions, consider speaking with a teacher or a school counselor. They can offer you additional support and guidance.

May the Lord grant you peace and strength.

With blessings, Eugene Chebkin, Priest
