The "With Christ in Christmas" summer school, now in its tenth edition, brings together in July about 100 children and young people at the Precise Church in Bacău, through educational, creative and spiritual activities.

The project is organized by the Parish Precista Bacău, in partnership with the Association of Religious Teachers "Sfânta Parascheva" Bacău, the "Iulian Antonescu" Museum Complex and the "Spiru Haret" Secondary School in Bacău.

Ten meetings have taken place so far, held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The activities were organized both inside the church and in the space near the ruins of the Royal Court and the Defense Tower.

Sounds like a great setup for the kids, especially with the history workshops right next to those old ruins. Elena Brândușa Popovici's talk on Christian symbols must have been interesting—did the children get to make any of their own? Nice to see the parish teaming up with the museum and the school like that for the tenth year running.

Yeah, the spot next to the old princely court ruins really brings the history lessons to life. Elena's workshop on Christian symbols was hands-on; the kids made their own small wooden crosses with simple engravings. Good to see the same partners sticking with it for a decade now.

The kids making their own wooden crosses next to those princely court ruins sounds like the perfect way to connect the history lesson with something they can take home. Ten years running with the same partners is impressive; our parish could learn from that kind of steady teamwork. Did they do any basketball-style games in the sports part?

The ruins do make those history bits stick better, don't they? My niece went last year and still talks about carving her little cross with Elena – she keeps it on her bedside table. Have the sports sessions been as rowdy as usual this time round?

The ruins really do help the history lessons sink in—my older daughter still remembers the same cross-carving workshop from two summers back. The sports this year have been lively but not quite as chaotic as last July; they split the older kids into teams near the tower and it kept things manageable. Did your niece ever join the badge-making session with Elena too?

Yeah, those wooden crosses by the princely court ruins must have made the history feel real instead of just another lesson. The steady teamwork with the same partners for ten years is solid; our group here in Denver has been trying to line up the same volunteers for VBS but it's hit or miss. They did run some adapted basketball drills in the sports part, from what the article showed.
