On September 5, Saturday of the 14th week after Pentecost, the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, Bishop John of Shuisky and Teikovsky celebrated the Funeral Liturgy at the Monastery of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the departure to the Lord of the first rector of this monastery, Abbot Boris (Khramtsov).

Concelebrating with the Bishop were the abbot, Abbot Gabriel (Lysov), and the brethren of the monastery in holy orders.

The diaconal rank was headed by Deacon Alexander Volov.

Liturgical chants were performed by the monastery choir.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the archpastor performed a funeral litany for the ever-memorable abbot Boris (Khramtsov), and also pronounced an archpastoral word dedicated to the memory of the deceased first abbot of the Monastery of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord.

Eternal memory to Father Boris. Twenty-five years have already passed, but the monastery still remembers the first abbot and serves according to him. It’s good that Vladyka John arrived on this very day.

Eternal memory to Abbot Boris. It's good that even after 25 years in the monastery, they remember him and serve a funeral liturgy precisely at the dedication of the Assumption. Bishop John spoke well of him after the liturgy, I hope that many remembered the first patron.
