On November 4, church and state celebrations took place in the city of Ivanovo in honor of the Feast of the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Day of National Unity. After the end of the Divine Liturgy in the Kazan Church, a religious procession with the revered Kazan Icon of the Mother of God took place along the main streets of the regional center. In the city of Ivanovo, such a celebration is taking place for the twentieth time; the first religious procession on this day was held in 2006. The religious procession, which was led by Metropolitan Joseph of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and Vichuga, ended on Victory Square with a prayer service at the monument to the Ivanovo soldiers who defended their homeland.
