Irmos: By the sevenfold furnace/ the Chaldean tormentor/ he kindled the godly furiously,/ by the better power they were saved, having seen this,/ they cried out to the Creator and Deliverer:/ lads, bless,/ priests, sing, / people, exalt to all ages.

Reverend Father Athanasius, pray to God for us.

Youthfully conquering the beginning, Athanasius, and the powers of darkness,/ you were a great teacher and a saving mentor,/ revealing the slander, and barking, and flattery of those,// your flock of all the demons of villainy observing unharmed.

Reverend Father Athanasius, pray to God for us.

Walking on earth as a man, living in Heaven as you truly acquired, / Your interlocutor appeared as an angel, living and living one, / singing with him today: // Bless the priests, people, exalt Christ forever.

Let us bless the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Lord.

You, who have come today, we deservedly praise and honor your relics, / deliverance of passions, forgiveness of sins, / all kinds of adversity and circumstances, permission beseechingly through your prayers, / / fulfilling your holy memory faithfully and joyfully forever.

And now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen.

Just as Elijah first settled in Carmel,/ so you too, practicing in the mountain of Athos, desired to be with God/ and, having been illuminated by the visions of God,/ the saint appeared You are more pure than the Mother of God, // crying out to Her: Rejoice, - with the Archangel.
