Irmos: You are my fortress, Lord, / You are my strength, / You are my God, You are my joy, / do not leave the bosom of the Father, / and visit our poverty. / Thus, with the prophet Habakkuk, I call to You: / Glory to Your strength, Lover of mankind.
Reverend Father Athanasius, pray to God for us.
Creating the mind of the passions, / and we instruct with Divine laws, and with the commandments of God we assure, / the child of conversation, and the evil host, and the dancing of demons, piously object, // Like a wise man, choosing what is best.
Reverend Father Athanasius, pray to God for us.
We accepted the light yoke of the Savior, and we are composed of Divine fear,/ and having cleansed the body and soul, you were the purity and chastity of wine,// and the limit of abstinence, and the seal of dispassion, and the image of love, Afanasy.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
You have already passed through us, and you have passed through the external punishment of philosophy, vegetative and decisive, / you have passed through each time, protected by righteousness, // by wisdom and judgment, humility and reason and frost red talents.
And now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen.
We wear the terrible plait of Cherubim, the Lord on the throne, like a fiery one, / in Thy, Pure One, indwelling the womb and flesh with the acceptance of the human being, // as a fair one teaches Venerable Athanasius, One All-Singing One.
