Enlightened by divine grace from above, O Lord, / you forsook the world, / worldly sorrow and all the rebellion of this world / you boldly rejected love for the sake of Christ, / You followed Christ evangelically,/ and with His yoke you obeyed His will in all things,/ and you unswervingly laid all your mind and heart on Him,/ for Christ’s sake you placed your body exhausting us with fasting and vigil, not falling asleep in our prayers, / making God merciful and offering the Most Pure Mother of God a Prayer Book, / and for this reason from God we receive power and strength against the enemy enemy,/ not being afraid of the air and sea burdens and icy conditions, dodging below,/ and by the depths of the sea in a small boat on the waters, making a procession,/ against the green storm, floating,/ We direct by the providence of the Divine mind,/ and near the Holy Nose the impassable sea path/ from the poisonous worm/ is easily traversed by man without harm, you created through your prayers,/ and With much patience you accomplished the feat in your temporary life,/ and having lived like the angels,/ even after your repose you exuded miracles of grace/ to those who come to you by faith, Barlaam, our blessed father,/ we cry to you: pray to Christ God,// may he save our souls.
