O Soul of Life, always living and life-giving,
By Thee we are made to live and by Thee we are quickened.
Thou art the Light that enlighteneth every man coming into this world;
And Thou art the Life, O Lord, Who livest and reignest in glory, God the Father Almighty. Amen.
But as for us, sinners, who have no good works of our own,
We stand before Thee, O Lord, with shame and confusion.
For we are a spectacle to all flesh, a sight of shame and reproach;
And Thou, O Lord, art our Righteousness and our Salvation.
Thou hast shown us mercy and given us Thy Son, Jesus Christ,
Our only Hope and our Only Life.
Therefore let us with compunction of heart and with humility of spirit
Confess our sins before Thee, O Lord, our God;
And let us pray to Thee, the All-merciful, for forgiveness.
For Thou art the Source of all mercy and goodness,
And Thou dost forgive those who turn unto Thee in penitence.
Amen.
O Soul and Spirit of the Lord and the Spirit,
having been born for our salvation, let us venerate and bow down to them:
For Thou hast willed to take on flesh
and to endure death,
and to rise again gloriously by Thy own Resurrection.

The Theotokos:
Rejoice at the door that cannot be entered: rejoice at the wall and roof sheltering those who come to Thee. Rejoice, unapproachable dwelling, and unassailable, giving birth by thy flesh to the Creator and God: praying, do not withhold from those who sing Thy praises, and those prostrating themselves before Thy feet.
