O Soul of Life, always living and life-giving,
Sudden in mercy, not in delusion.
Thy compunction is a stranger to the spectacle of vanity;
Thy power is the authority of Thy creation.
For Thou art the glory of God, the image of the Father's light,
The radiance of the invisible substance, the very hand of the uncreated.
Therefore, with fear and trembling we cry:
O Soul of Life, ever living and life-giving,
Have mercy on us.
O Soul and Spirit of the Lord and God, having been born twice for our salvation, let us with faith and worship say: For Thou didst will to take upon Thyself a body, and to suffer death, and to rise again gloriously from the dead by Thy own Resurrection.
O Theotokos,
Rejoice at the door that cannot be passed through: rejoice O wall and roof of those who come to Thee. Rejoice, unapproachable resting-place, and inaccessibly pure, giving birth by thy flesh to Thy Creator and God: praying, do not withhold from those who sing hymns to Thee and prostrate themselves before Thy feet.
