For at Thy terrible and impartial judgment stand, O Christ God, and raising condemnations, and making a word about the evil things I have done: this day, before the days of my judgment even came, I stand at Thy holy altar before Thee and before Thy terrible and holy angels, I bow down in my conscience, I offer my wicked and lawless deeds, reveal and reprove them. See, O Lord, my humility, and forgive all my sins: see how my iniquity has multiplied more than the hair of my head. Who has not done evil? What sin have I not committed? What evil have you not imagined in my soul? For I have already committed pride, arrogance, reproach, idle talk, inappropriate laughter, self-love, love of glory, untruth: every feeling and every evil of mine has been defiled, corrupted, indecent, I have created, having become a work of every kind to the devil. And we know, Lord, that my iniquities have surpassed my head: but the multitude of Your mercies is immeasurable, and the mercy of Your kindness is ineffable, and there is no sin, conquering Your love for mankind.
Moreover, wonderful King, kindly Lord, surprise me, a sinner, with Your mercy, show Your goodness the power, and show the strength of Your gracious mercy, and when you turn, accept me, a sinner. Receive me as you received the prodigal, the robber, the harlot. Receive me, having sinned against You beyond measure in word and deed, with placeless lust and wordless thought. And just as at the tenth hour of those who came with one hope, you accepted those who had done nothing worthy, so also accept me, the sinner: for many have sinned, and have become defiled, and have grieved Thy Holy Spirit, and have grieved Thy humane womb in deed and word and thought, in night and in day, manifested and unmanifestly, whether willingly or unwillingly. And we know that you will present my sins before me as they are what I have committed, and you will destroy the word with me about those who have sinned unforgivably in their minds. But, Lord, Lord, do not reprove me with Your righteous judgment, do not reprove me with Your wrath, do not punish me with Your wrath: have mercy on me, Lord, for not only am I weak, but I am also Your creation.
For Thou, O Lord, hast Thou established Thy fear upon me: I have done evil before Thee, for Thee alone have I sinned: but I pray Thee, do not enter into judgment with Thy servant. If you see iniquity, O Lord, O Lord, who will stand? For I am the abyss of sin, and I am not worthy, below I am content to look up and see the heights of heaven, because of the multitude of my sins, of which there is no number. Why haven't my sins been corrupted? which were not kept evil? Every sin I have committed, every uncleanness I have put into my soul, would be undesirable for You, my God, and for man. Who will raise me up, in the face of evil and a fraction of fallen sin? Lord, my God, I trust in You: if I have hope for salvation, if Your love for mankind overcomes the multitude of my iniquities, be my Savior, and according to Your generosity and Your mercy, weaken, forgive, forgive me all who have sinned with You: for my soul is filled with many evils, and there is no hope of salvation in me. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and do not reward me according to my deeds, and do not judge me according to my deeds: but convert, intercede, deliver my soul from the evils and cruel perceptions that grow with it.
Save me for the sake of Thy mercy: that where sin has multiplied, Thy grace may abound, and I will praise and glorify Thee always, all the days of my life. For You are the God of those who repent and the Savior of those who sin, and we send up glory to You, with Your beginningless Father, and Your all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
As if standing at Thy terrible and impartial judgment, Christ God, listening to the accusation and giving an account of the evil deeds I have committed, so now, before this day of judgment has yet come upon me, standing before Thee at Thy holy altar and before Thy terrible and holy Angels, with a conscience burdened with sins, I offer my evil and lawless deeds, declaring and denouncing them. Look, Lord, at my humility, and forgive all my sins, for my iniquities are more than the hairs on my head. For is there any evil that I would not do? and is there such a sin that I would not commit? Is there such an evil that I would not plan in my soul? And in fact, I discovered: pride, arrogance, reproaches, idle talk, indecent laughter, pride, love of fame, lies. Every feeling of mine, every member of my body I desecrated, corrupted, made shameful, working in every possible way to please the devil.
I realize, Lord, that my iniquities have gone beyond my head; but I also know the immeasurable multitude of Your bounties and the ineffable mercy of Your kindly goodness, and there is no sin that could defeat Your love for mankind. Surprise, wonderful King, kindly Lord, surprise me, a sinner, with Your mercies, show the power of Your goodness, show the strength of Your condescending mercy, and accept me, a sinner, turning to You. Accept me as You received the prodigal (son), the thief, the harlot. Accept me, who have sinned immeasurably in word and deed, in lust and in thought. And just as You accepted those who came at the eleventh hour, having done nothing worthy, so accept me, a sinner: for I have sinned a lot, desecrated myself, grieved Your Holy Spirit, grieved Your love for mankind in deed and word and thought, night and day, openly and secretly, willingly and unwillingly. I know that You will present to me my sins as I have committed them, and You will demand from me an account for such acts for which my reason cannot justify. But, Lord, Lord!
Judge me not by Thy righteous judgment, do not rebuke me in Thy wrath, and do not punish me in Thy wrath; have mercy on me, Lord, although because I am weak and Your creation. You, Lord, have established Your fear in me, but I have committed evil before You and sinned against You alone; but I pray to You: do not enter into court with Your servant. If You, Lord, notice iniquities, who can stand? For within me there is an abyss of sin, and I am unworthy, I cannot allow myself to lift my eyes to see the heights of heaven, because of the multitude of my sins, which are without number. For by what sin did I not corrupt myself? what evil does not take possession of me? I have committed every sin, I have placed every uncleanness in my soul, and I have found myself worthless both before You, my God, and before people. Who will raise me, having fallen into the abyss of such evil deeds and sins? Lord my God! I trust in You, if only there is hope for my salvation and if the multitude of my iniquities does not overcome Your love for mankind.
Be my Savior and, by Your generosity and mercies, weaken, forgive, forgive me everything that I have sinned, since my soul is full of many evils and there is no hope for salvation in me. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and do not reward me according to my deeds, and do not judge me according to my actions; but prevent, intercede, deliver my soul from the evils and cruel perceptions growing in it. Save me for the sake of Your mercy, so that where sin has increased, Your grace will abound, and I will praise and glorify You always, all the days of my life. For You are the God of those who repent, the Savior of those who sin, and we send up glory to You, with Your beginningless Father, and Your all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages.
