Verse: Glorify Him in the timpani and in the face, / glorify Him in the strings and in the organ.
O Lord, most dreadful is Thy mystery of resurrection:
for Thou hast passed forth from the grave,
as the Bridegroom from the foe,
vanquishing death by death,
and freeing Adam.
Therefore on the heavens the angels rejoice,
and on earth men glorify,
that good-womb of Thine which was for us. O Lover of Mankind.
Hymn: Glory ye in his might, glory ye in his power. Glory ye in his might, glory ye in his majesty. Let every breath glorify the Lord.
Sinful Jews,
where seals and money-changers are,
give ye to soldiers;
not stealthily hath been hidden the treasure,
but risen again by strength:
ye yourselves, having shamed,
having cast off the Lord of glory,
hath suffered and been buried,
and risen again from the dead:
unto Him we shall bow.
Stichos: Arise, O my God, that Thy hand may be lifted up, / and forget not Thy mercies unto the end.
Sealed the tomb, /
as thou wast betrayed by the Jews, /
watchers were set, and signs placed, /
through the closed door passed the King; /
either as dead, Thou presentedst Thyself, /
either as to God bowing, singing with us: /
glory to Thee, who art sealed, and in Thy resurrection.
Stichos: Ispovědámse tebe, Gdje, všem sěrdcem moim, / pověm vsja čudesa tvoja.
O Thou whose grave is full of life-giving fragrance,
And women weeping with ointments hast attained to Thee,
And death-bearing, sought to anoint Thy holy body:
Lo, they found a light-bearer sitting upon the stone,
And declaring and saying:
What ye weep, from the rib of which life for all the world flowed;
What ye seek as though dead in the grave of the immortal;
But rather proclaim with gladness to them that are taught
The glorious resurrection, bringing worldwide joy,
By which Thou hast enlightened us:
Grant us cleansing of eyes and great mercy.
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.
Thou, O True Life, dost keep man, O Life of men, Thy life we ask, having risen by the enlightenment:
Thou didst show Thyself fearful to them that seek the Spirit to see:
But Thou didst still the tumult in their souls, showing them hand and foot.
Therefore not believing ones also,
By partaking and by remembrance of instruction,
Didst Thou overturn them unto us, that they might understand the writings:
And having promised the oblation of the Oath, and blessing them,
Didst Thou descend into heaven.
Wherefore with them we bow down to Thee, Lord, glory be to Thee.
And now and for evermore. Amen.
O Theotokos, Gladsome Light,
Thou hast been glorified, O Thee, by the double mystery:
For having taken flesh from thee, the Adversary was made a captive,
Man rose up,
The oath was broken,
Eve was set free,
Death was destroyed, and we have waited.
Therefore, singing with gladness, we cry:
Blessed is Jesus Christ,
Blessed is Thy will, O Lord, glory to Thee.
Glory be to Thee, O Lord, Who hast shown us light.
