Stichos: Glorify Him in the timpani and face, / glorify Him in the strings and organ.
O Lord, most terrible is Thy mystery of resurrection:
for Thou hast passed forth from the grave,
as Bridegroom from the foe,
by death thou didst destroy death,
and freed Adam.
Wherefore on the heavens the angels rejoice,
and on earth men glorify,
that good-will which was for us, O Lover of mankind.
Hymn: Glorify Him in the heights of sweet sounds. Glorify Him in the heights of exultant cries. / Let every breath glorify the Lord.
-fashionably unorthodox Jews, /
where are seals and money-changers, /
why give to soldiers; /
no treasure was stolen secretly, /
but rose again because he was strong: /
yet they themselves were shamed, having cast off the Lord of glory, /
suffering and being buried, and rising from the dead: /
unto him we shall bow.
Stichos: Arise, O Lord my God, that Thy hand may be lifted up, / and forget not Thy mercies unto the end.
Sealed was the tomb, /
as though stolen by the Jews, /
guards were set and signs placed, /
through the closed door went the King; /
either as one dead, /
or as to God bowing, singing with us: /
glory to Thee, who art sealed, and to Thy resurrection.
O sweet-smelling of Thy grave, O Myrrh-bearers weeping women,
Thou hast reached the Lord, and bearing death,
Sought to anoint Thy holy body:
And found there a light-bearing angel sitting on the stone,
Who spake unto them, saying:
"Whose tears flow from the rib that gave life to all the world;
What seek ye in the grave of the deathless?
Go rather to those who know not,
And announce the glorious resurrection of Him Who has enlightened us with His worldwide joy,
And grant us cleansing and great prayer."
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.
Thou, O True Life, dost hold the world, O God, for man's sake;
Thy life doth Thou bestow, after their rising, O Lord,
Thou didst show Thyself fearful to them that seek the Spirit to see:
But Thou didst still the tumult of their souls,
Showing them hand and foot.
Therefore, O Faithless ones, by partaking and remembrance of instruction,
Thou hast cast them down, and made known unto them what is written:
By which also Thou didst promise the sacred oblation,
And blessed them;
Thou didst descend into Heaven.
Wherefore with them we bow before Thee,
O Lord, glory be to Thee.
And now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Theotokos, gladsome voice: Blessed art thou, O Theevo, / for in thee was Adam captured from the prison of hell, / and by thy power man rose up, / the covenant was made void, / Eve was set free, / death was destroyed, and we have hoped. / Therefore, singing we cry: Blessed is Jesus Christ / Who willed thus, glory to Thee.
Glory be to Thee, O Lord, Who hast shown us light.
