Verse: Glorify Him in the timpani and in the face, / glorify Him in the strings and in the organ.
Lord, O mighty and terrible is Thy resurrection mystery:
for Thou hast passed from the grave,
as the Bridegroom from the foe,
by death Thou didst destroy death,
and freed Adam.
Wherefore on the heavens the angels rejoice,
and on earth men glorify,
that good-will towards us which Thou didst show, O Lover of Mankind.
Stichos: Hail ye in the echoings of sweet sounds. Hail ye in the echoings of exultant cries. / Let every breath praise the Lord.
O lawless Jews, / where seals and money-changers are, / why give to soldiers? / The treasure was not stolen secretly, / but rose again because of strength: / yourselves have been shamed by casting off the Lord of glory, / suffering and being buried, and rising from the dead: / to Him we shall bow.
Stichos: Arise, O my God, that Thy hand may be lifted up, / and forget not Thy mercies unto the end.
Sealed was the tomb,
as thou wast betrayed by the Jews;
watchers were set,
and seals placed upon it.
And the King passed through the closed door,
either as though dead and presented to us,
or as though bowing before God,
joining in our hymns:
Glory to Thee, who art sealed within,
and glory to Thy resurrection.
Stichos: I confess to Thee, Lord, with all my heart, / I declare all Thy wonders.
O Thou who dost make the sepulcher delightful,
And women anointing Thee with tears hast reached the Lord,
Carrying death, desiring to anoint Thy holy body:
Lo, they found a radiant angel sitting on the stone,
Saying to them and declaring:
What ye weep for, from whose ribs flowed life to all the world?
What ye seek as though dead in the grave of the immortal?
Go hence and more joyfully proclaim to that disciple
The glorious resurrection which hath brought gladness to all the world,
And by Thy light enlightening us, grant us cleansing and great prayer.
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.
Thou, O True Life, dost hold the world, O God, for man's sake;
Thy life doth Thou bestow, after our rising,
Thou didst show Thyself fearful to them that seek the Spirit to see:
But Thou didst still the tumult in their souls,
Showing them hand and foot.
Therefore, O unbelievers, Thou hast cast down by partaking and by remembrance of instruction,
Overthrowing them with that which may be understood from the Scriptures:
And having promised the oath of the Spirit,
Thou didst bless and didst descend to heaven.
Wherefore we bow before Thee with them,
O Lord, glory be to Thee.
And now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Theotokos, the third canticle: Blessed art thou, O Theotokos, / for by thy womb didst thou contain Him who had been imprisoned in hell, / Adam was raised from the dead, / the curse was broken, / Eve was set free, / death was destroyed, and we have hoped. / Therefore, singing with joy, we cry: / Blessed art thou, O Christ, / for Thy will is good, glory to Thee.
Glory be to Thee, O Lord, Who hast shown us light.
