Verse: Glorify Him in the timpani and in the face, / glorify Him in the strings and in the organ.
O Lord, most dreadful is Thy mystery of resurrection:
for Thou hast passed forth from the grave,
as the Bridegroom from the foe,
by death Thou hast destroyed death,
and hast set free Adam.
Wherefore on high the angels do rejoice,
and on earth men glorify Thee,
O Lover of mankind, for Thy good-will towards us.
Hymn: Glory ye in his holy glory. Glory ye in his holy praises. / Let every breath glorify the Lord.
-fashionably unorthodox Jews, /
where are seals and money-changers, /
why for soldiers? /
not stolen was the treasure, /
but risen by strength: /
yet yourselves disgraced, having cast off the Lord of glory, /
suffered and was buried, and rose from the dead: /
unto Him we shall bow.
Stichos: Arise, O my God, that Thy hand may be lifted up, / and forget not Thy mercies unto the end.
Sealed was the tomb, / as thou wast betrayed by the Jews, / watchmen were set and signs laid, / through a closed door the King went in; / though dead, Thou presentedest Thyself to us, / though dead, Thou didst bow down to God, singing with us: / Glory to Thee, who sealest this, and by Thy Resurrection.
Stichos: Ispověm'sě ti, gđi, vseмъ sěrčemъ mojimъ, / pověmъ vsja čudesa tvoja.
O Thou whose grave is full of life-giving fragrance,
And women weeping with myrrh-bearing hands,
Have reached the Lord, and bearing death,
Sought to anoint Thy holy body:
But finding there an angel sitting on a stone,
He spake unto them, saying:
"Whence ye weep, from the ribs of Him who giveth life to all the world;
What seek ye in the grave of the deathless?
Go now and tell this news to the disciples,
Bringing glad tidings of the resurrection of Christ, the Saviour of the world,
By which Thou hast enlightened us:
Grant us cleansing of heart and great mercy."
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.
Thou, O True Life, dost keep man, O Life of men, Thy life Thou hast given, after He rose from the dead,
Thou didst show forth a fearful spectacle, O Lord, to them that seek Thee with their spirit to see:
But Thou didst still the tumult in their souls, showing by hand and foot.
Therefore also to the unbelievers, by partaking and by remembrance of Thy mysteries,
Thou didst overturn them at once, that they might understand the writings:
And having promised an oath for an inheritance to the patriarchs, Thou hast blessed them,
And hast come down on high.
Wherefore with them we bow before Thee, O Lord, glory be to Thee.
And now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Theotokos, Gladsome Light, gladsome light:
Blessed art thou, O Theotokos, for by thee was Adam from the bonds of hell redeemed,
Man hath arisen,
The curse is broken,
Eve is set free,
Death is destroyed, and we have hoped.
Therefore, singing with gladness, we cry:
Blessed is Jesus Christ,
Blessed is His will thus, glory to Thee.
Glory be to Thee, O Lord, Who hast shown us light.
