When thou didst descend below unto death, O Life without death, then did Death slay thee by the brightness of God's glory. And when thou didst also, O Lord, from the lower parts rise again, all powers together cried out: Thou art the Life-giving Source of our God; to Thee be glory.
O Theotokos,
More than in meaning, O most renowned Theotokos, sealed by purity of mystery, thou hast known falsely not the true One born of God: therefore pray to Him that our souls may be saved.
