Note. There are various versions of the Jesus Prayer, the most common ones are given here. The Greek tradition is characterized by the use of the shortest text of five words. In Slavic-Russian practice, it is customary to add the word “sinful” (“sinful”) at the end of the prayer. It is worth remembering that the Jesus Prayer does not have a single strictly established form for everyone and is not some kind of formula that acts on its own. The most important thing in it when using any option is attention, faith and turning the heart to the Savior Jesus.
