There is a certain symmetry in the Greek text of the prayer.
The rhyming consonance of “negative spirits” in -иас is interesting: ἀργίας (argias), περιεργίας (periergias), φιλαρχίας (filarchias) and ἀργολογίας (argologās).
Also, the “good spirits”, the number of which in prayer, like the “negative” ones, is four, form a consonance in -(in)is: σωφροσύνης (sophrosinis), ταπεινοφροσύνης (tapinophrosinis), ὑπομονῆς (ipomonis) and ἀγάπης (agapis).
These consonances in the first and second requests of the prayer emphasize their symmetry.
The first word in the list of sins is ἀργία (argia) - idleness, laziness - literally means idleness. It is formed using the negative prefix ἀ- from the ancient Greek word ἔργον (ergon) - business, work, labor. And the name of the second sin - the Greek word περιεργία - is formed from the same word ἔργον using the prefix περι- with the meaning above, excessively. In the Church Slavonic language, the ancient Greek word ἡ περιεργία (periergia) (περιέργεια and περιεργία in different spellings) - curiosity, interference in other people's affairs, vanity is translated as despondency. Why is this so? The fact is that despondency can also manifest itself as vanity: a person is constantly rushing about, he is always in communication, entertainment, just so as not to be left alone with himself. That is, a person who does not suffer from despondency is a person occupied with the internal, and a person who suffers from the passion of despondency is an “external” person who is scattered.
