Today the grace of Fasting shines with all the rays of the sun and begins to wash away the darkness [originating] from sin; come in joy, overwhelmed by various passions, and let us accept [this] gift cordially, exclaiming: “Praise the Lord in hymns and extol the Lord in all ages!”

The primordial volume is bitter, in ancient paradise the food was wordless, rejected and condemned, it was driven out of sweetness: but it was nailed on the tree, the evil scripture was nailed Thou art his sin. Moreover, we glorify Your many compassions throughout the ages.
The Primordial One once found bitterness in paradise through foolish eating: he was expelled, condemned and deprived of pleasure. But you, nailed to the Tree, nailed the nasty record of its sin [Yourself]. Therefore, we sing Your great kindness in all ages in hymns!

Having rejected the law of fasting, we crawled into the abyss of sin, and now we introduce fasting in demand: to those who generously see us off, grace was sent down from heaven, and a rich world: Lords sing about the deeds and exalt them to all ages.
Having rejected the law of fasting, we have slipped into the pit of sin and [therefore] we have a need for the now approaching Fast. O Most Gracious One, send down from heaven abundant peace and grace to us who perform it and exclaim: “Praise in hymns and exalt the Lord in all ages!”

Other:
Irmos: Angels and heavens:
Nailed to the flesh on the cross, the Generous One, seeing Your creatures’ nature changed: the light of the day into darkness, the earth moving, and everything shaking.
Another three-song.
Irmos: Angels and heavens...
Seeing You, Merciful One, nailed in flesh to the Cross, the nature of creatures was confused and distorted: daylight changed into darkness, the earth shook and everything fell into confusion.

You have exalted human nature to the height of the cross, and from Your divine ribs You have poured out wealth of salvation, by faith to those who worship the Savior of Your Most Pure Passion.
You lifted human nature with You to the height of the Cross and from Your divine rib poured out the wealth of salvation to those who worship with faith in Your most pure Passion.

Let us bless the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Lord.
Trinity: One God is Trinity, neither did I step into sonship from the Father, nor did I change from the Son into procession: but inherent in both, the light of God, I glorify the Three forever.
Let us bless the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit of the Lord!
Trinitarian: One God is Trinity: the Father does not change into sonship, and the Son does not pass on to procession, but I glorify the [personal] properties, both [- Persons and nature], Light, God, the Three forever.

Theotokos: How you gave birth to kings, from the Father you flowlessly prayed, and are sung with the Holy Spirit; or as the message is One, who is pleased to be born from You forever.
Theotokos: Tell me, how did you give birth from the Father who pre-existed timelessly and is glorified with the [All]Holy Spirit? But only One knows this - He Who deigned to be Born from You forever.

Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.
Our repentance, as the good nature of the reception, deliver the enemy’s snares, Lord, so that through your faith and love we will now reap the holy dominion.
Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee!
You, who accepted our repentance, for you are Good by nature, deliver [us] from the snares of the Enemy, Lord, so that with faith and love we now sing Your holy dominion!

Irmos: Angels and heavens sit on the throne of glory, and as God is unceasingly glorified, bless, sing, and exalt Him forever.
Irmos: Soaring on the throne of glory and as God constantly glorified by Angels and Heaven in all ages, bless, glorify and extol!

Song 9:
Irmos: The heavens and the ends of the earth were amazed at this, for God had appeared as a man in the flesh, and Your womb was the most spacious of the heavens: therefore, Theotokos of Angels and a person is called by the authorities.
Song 9
Irmos: The sky went into a frenzy and the limits of the earth were amazed, for God physically revealed Himself to people, and Your womb surpassed the entire space of heaven! Therefore, the leaders of the Angelic forces and people glorify You, Mother of God.
ᾨδὴ θ´.

This luminous time has come, this holy day, run away from your dark passions, O soul! And at dawn, perceive those who instruct you towards the light, tenderness, as if you drink wine and rejoice, and you hate the sweets of drunkenness.
So the luminous time has come, and the holy time has dawned [for us]: run away, soul, from the darkness of your passions, meet the sunrise that brings you light! Drink the wine of contrition and rejoice, imbued with hatred of the intoxication of passions!

For truly this is the most blessed time of the forgiveness of Christ, which You have given to all the faithful for the victory over sins, and saving cleansing, and the gift of a friend, in which we pray to Thee: partakers Savior, create for us all Your goodness.
