On the verse there is a day, voice 2:
The Lord's Cross, to those who unswervingly bow down to him, flows all sorts of sweets, and the law of abstinence: for those who continually look at Him nailed to him crucify the flesh with passions and lusts. From this we strive to be, through pure fasting we appropriate, humanely, to Him who has appropriated His passion and His dispassionate nature to Him Who has bestowed great mercy.
On the poem there is the samoglashen of the day, voice 2:
For those who unswervingly worship him, the Lord’s Cross is a bridle for all pleasure and the law of abstinence, for those who continually look at Him nailed to it crucify the flesh with [its] passions and inclinations. And we, trying to enter their number through pure fasting, may we be accepted as our own by Him who became His own for us out of love for mankind through Passion and gave us His dispassion by nature*, Who has great mercy.
*literally: the nature of one’s own dispassion
We repeat this with the verse: My eyes are lifted up to You:
We repeat this self-concord with the verse: I have lifted up my eyes to You, who dwells in heaven. Behold, as the eyes of slaves are turned to the hands of their masters, as the eyes of a slave are turned to the hands of her mistress, so our eyes are turned to the Lord our God, until He has pity on us. (Psalm 122)

Verse: Lord have mercy on us:
And he was martyred: the passion-bearers, who did not exalt earthly pleasure, were honored with heavenly good ones, and their cohabitants were an angel: Lord, have mercy on them through your prayers and save us.
Verse: Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we are overflowing with contempt. Our soul is abundantly filled with reproach from the prosperous and contempt from the proud. (Psalm 122)
And martyred: Not desiring earthly pleasure, the victorious were awarded heavenly blessings and became fellow citizens of the angels. Through their petitions, Lord, have mercy and save us!

Glory, and now the Holy Cross. Similar to: Ever from the tree:
The all-ripe, Pure bunch,/ You bore Him uncultivated in the womb,/ You saw Him hanging on the tree,/ You exclaimed weeping, and You cried out:/ Child, seek sweetness, / from which the drunkenness of all passions is taken away from the Benefactor, / who was born for You, / by divine consolations, / / as it is beneficial.
Glory, And now... The Holy Cross. Similar: When from the Tree...
When she saw hanging on the Tree, the Pure One, the all-ripe Grapes, Which You bore in Your womb without cultivation, she screamed with tears and cried out: “Child, pour out drop by drop the sweet and unfermented wine, with which let the intoxication of passions be destroyed for the sake of Me, Who gave birth to You, according to divine admonitions, Kindhearted One!”

We will escape the all-destructive passions of the soul by fasting, and we will show tenderness the fruits that have made the most gracious God saddened by the sins.
Let us escape the destructive passions of the soul, finding refuge in fasting, and let those who have grieved the Merciful God with our sins show the fruits of contrition of the heart!
