Apostles, martyrs and prophets, / saints, reverends and righteous, / who have accomplished good deeds and kept faith, / who have boldness towards the Savior, / pray for Him who is Good for us / to be saved, we pray, for our souls.
+ Those who have accomplished a good deed and kept the faith... It is based on the words of the Apostle Paul: I am already becoming a victim, and the time of my departure has come. I fought a good fight, completed the course, kept the faith (in the Slavic Bible: I fought a good fight, passed the race, kept the faith: let us remind you that the course is running); and now there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who loved His appearing (2 Tim. 4:6-8).
