On the Sabbath at the Great Vespers, on the Lord I called out, stichera of Resurrection.
By Thy holy Word, O Lord, Thou hast confounded the devil, and by Thy Resurrection Thou hast dulled the sharpness of sin, and hast raised us from the gates of death: we glorify Thee, O Only-Begotten.
Risen Thou, giving life to the human race:
Forasmuch as Thou dost lead in prayer:
Thou dost terrify these kings of hell,
And takest up the gates of weeping.
For entering into the King's glory,
Hast spoken unto them that are in bonds,
Go ye out: and them that are in darkness, let them be opened.
Blessed Wonder, co-worker of the invisible, having suffered in the flesh for man's love, hast risen immortal. Come, let us worship Thy grace: for by the blessedness of Thy compunction Thou hast been delivered from delusion, and art skilled in singing with three Persons of One God.
And these stichera of the Annolation, of the same tone.
Evening prayer we offer thee, O Unending Light, at the end of the ages, because in the mirror of the flesh Thou didst descend into the world, and even to hell beneath, there shattering the power of darkness, and revealing light by Thy Resurrection: O Giving of Light, glory to Thee.
Begging of the Prince of Peace, the glorified Jesus Christ: for by His resurrection from the dead, the world was delivered from spiritual deception. The angelic host rejoices, the demons flee the deceit, Adam rises to his feet, and the devil is put to shame.
Who hath learned from the custody of the lawless, cover the uprising of Christ, and receive the silverlings, and say to those sleeping, "He that was dead is stolen out of the grave." Who saw it? Who heard it? When was the dead man stolen out of the grave? More than that, when anointed and naked, he left behind him one who embalmed him in the tomb. Do not be deceived by the Jews; learn their sayings, understand that He is truly the Saviour of the world, and almighty.
O Lord, Thou who dost deliver from the pit, and hast overcome death, enlighten us with Thy glorious light, and have mercy upon us.
Glory, and honour, and worship now, O Theotokos:
In the dark sea, unbridgable brides: there was written a likeness sometimes: then Moses, divider of waters; here however, Gabriel, minister of wonders. Then in depths he journeyed immortal Ilia: now hath Emmanuel's mother borne without seed two. The sea remained impassable after Ilia's passing: immaculate by circumcision Emanuilevna remained uncorrupted. Thou who art and wast before, as a man, have mercy on us.
