On the Sabbath at the Great Vespers, I called upon the Lord, and psalms of resurrection were sung.

By Thy holy Word, O Lord, Thou hast confounded the devil, and by Thy Resurrection Thou hast dulled the sinful sting, and hast delivered us from the gates of death: we glorify Thee, only-Begotten.

Risen Thou, giving life to the human race:
Because in bowing down, they were led:
Thou didst terrify these kings of hell,
And tookst them into a weeping prison.
For entering Thou didst enter the King's glory,
Saying unto those in bonds, "Go forth":
And unto those in darkness, "Be opened."

Blessed Wonder, co-worker of the invisible, having suffered in the flesh for man's love, hast risen immortal. Come, let us worship Thy presence: for by Thy spiritual deception Thou didst deliver us, and having become skilled in three Persons of One God to sing praises.

And now the anatoliyevy stichiry, of the same tone.

Evening prayer we offer thee, O Unending Light, at the end of the ages, because in the mirror of the flesh Thou didst descend upon this world, and even to hell Thou didst go down, there shattering the power of darkness, and by Thy resurrection Thou didst show forth light: O Giver of Light, glory to Thee.

Begging of the Prince of Peace, the glorified Jesus Christ: for He hath raised up the dead, and the world was delivered from spiritual deception. The angelic host rejoices, the demons flee the deceit, Adam arose from his fall, and the devil is put to shame.

O Lord, who in custody was taught by the lawless, cover Thy Son's uprising, and receive the silverlings, and say to those sleeping: He that was laid in the grave hath been stolen forth. Who saw it? Who heard it? When was the dead man stolen forth, more than when anointed and naked, leaving behind him his own burial? Do not be deceived by the Jews; learn their sayings prophesied, and understand: thus is He indeed the true Saviour of the world, and all-powerful.

O Lord, Thou who dost deliver from the bonds of captivity, and hast overcome death, enlighten us with Thy divine light, and have mercy upon us.

Glory, and now, O Theotokos:

In the dark sea, unapproachable brides, a likeness was written sometimes: there Moses, divider of waters; here however, Elijah, minister of wonders. Then in his going down into the depths, Elijah was immortalized: now however, Emmanuel's birth was without seed. The sea remained impassable after Elijah's passing: immaculate by circumcision, remained uncorrupted. Thou who wast and art again, reveal Thyself as a man; but have mercy on us.
