On the Sabbath at the Great Vespers, on the Lord I called, stichera of Resurrection.
By Thy holy Word, O Lord, Thou hast confounded the devil, and by Thy Resurrection Thou hast dulled the sinful sting, and hast raised us from the gates of death: let us glorify Thee, O Only-Begotten.
Risen Thou, giving life to the human race:
Forasmuch as Thou dost lead in prayer upon thy knees:
Thou hast terrified these kings of hell, and taken up the gates of weeping.
For when He entered the King with glory Jesus Christ,
He spake unto them that were in bonds, saying: Go forth;
and to them that were in darkness, let it be opened.
O Wonderworking, co-laborer of the Invisible, having suffered in the flesh for love of man, Thou hast raised up the Immortal. Come, let us worship Thy grace: for by the delusion of guile Thou didst deliver Thyself, and art skilled in singing with three Persons of One God.
And these stichera of the Annolation, of the same tone.
Evening prayer we offer thee, O Unending Light, at the end of the ages, because in the mirror of thy flesh didst thou appear to the world, and even to hell dost thou descend, there shattering the power of darkness, and by thy resurrection didst show forth light: O Giver of Light, glory to thee.
Blessed be the Prince of Peace, the glorified Jesus Christ: for by Him the dead were raised to life, and the world was delivered from spiritual delusion. The angelic host rejoices, the demons flee from delusion, Adam rises from his fall, and the devil is made a fool.
O Lord, who in custody was taught by the lawless, cover Thy Son's uprising, and receive the silverlings, and say to those sleeping: "He that was dead is stolen from the grave." Who hath seen, who hath heard, when the dead was stolen from the grave, more than anointed and naked, leaving behind her in the grave a burial garment. Do not be deceived by the Jews; learn their sayings prophesied, and understand: "This is truly the Saviour of the world, and almighty."
O Lord, Thou who dost deliver from the pit, and hast overcome death, enlighten us by Thy gracious light, and have mercy upon us.
Glory, and honour, now, to the Theotokos:
In the dark sea, unapproachable brides, a likeness was written sometimes: there Moses, divider of waters; here however, Gabriel, minister of wonders. Then in depths he journeyed immortal Ilia: now hath Emmanuel's mother borne without seed two. The sea remained impassable after Ilia's passage: immaculate by circumcision Emanuilevna remained uncorrupted. Thou art He, and before Him, reveal Thyself as a man, but have mercy on us.
