Here we explain words that are not entirely understandable to modern people who do not know the Church Slavonic language and that are repeatedly found in prayers. Particular attention is paid to words that only seem understandable, but in reality have a slightly different meaning (or shades of meaning) in the church language from the modern one. These also include words of deep theological content. All of them were explained in their place in the book (as they were encountered in prayers), but sometimes for a better understanding it is important to see where else the same word is found, what kind of life it lives in other contexts, to look at words that are close in origin and meaning (the dictionary provides this opportunity). Sometimes a word needs a theological commentary, which is given in the book in an additional explanation of the prayer (such cases are noted in the dictionary). In this way, the dictionary complements the explanations of prayers, and the explanations of prayers enrich the dictionary.
