Psalm 90

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. {abide: Heb. lodge}
I will say of the LORD, {He is} my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, {and} from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth {shall be thy} shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; {nor} for the arrow {that} flieth by day;
{Nor} for the pestilence {that} walketh in darkness; {nor} for the destruction {that} wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; {but} it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, {which is} my refuge, {even} the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in {their} hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. {adder: or, asp}
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I {will be} with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. {long...: Heb. length of days}

Тропарь, глас 8-й

With the depth of wisdom, build everything humanely, and give what is useful to everyone, the only Creator, rest, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant, who have placed their trust in You, Creator and Creator and God ours. (twice)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Theotokos: To you the wall, the refuge of the imam, and the prayer book are favored by God, Whom you gave birth to, Brideless Mother of God, salvation of the faithful.

Кафисма 17-я (1)

(sung in the 2nd tone or read)

Blessed are the immaculate ones on the way, walking in the law of the Lord.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

The blessed ones who experience His testimonies will seek Him with all their hearts, doing no iniquity, walking in His ways. Thou hast commanded to keep Thy commandments strictly. So that my ways may be corrected, Thy justifications may be preserved. Then I will not be ashamed; I will always look upon all Your commandments. Let us confess to You in the righteousness of our hearts, always to teach us the destinies of Your righteousness. I will preserve Your excuses, do not leave me until the end. In this way the youngest will correct his path; always keep Your words. I seek You with all my heart, do not turn me away from Your commandments. I have hidden Your words in my heart, lest I sin against You. Blessed are You, Lord, teach me by Your justification.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

With my lips I declare all the destinies of Your mouth. On the path of Your testimonies I have enjoyed, like all riches. I will mock Your commandments, and I will understand Your ways. I will learn from Your righteousness; I will not forget Your words. Reward Your servant: I will live, and I will keep Your words. Open my eyes, and I will understand the wonders of Your law. I am a stranger on earth: do not hide Your commandments from me. Love my soul to desire Your destiny at all times. Thou hast rebuked the proud: curse them that turn aside from Thy commandments. Take away from me diarrhea and humiliation, as evidence of Your demands.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

For the princes are hoary, and I am slandered, and Your servant mocks Your justifications: For Your testimonies are my teaching, and my counsels are Your justifications. My soul cleaves to the earth, live according to Your word.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Thou hast declared my ways, and Thou hast heard me: teach me Thy justification: Let me understand the way of Thy justifications, and I will mock at Thy wonders. My soul slumbers from despondency: strengthen me in Your words. Leave the path of unrighteousness from me, and have mercy on me by Your law.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

I have chosen the path of truth, and I have not forgotten Your destiny. I have clung to Your testimony, O Lord, do not put me to shame. The path of Your commandments flowed when You expanded my heart. Set for me, O Lord, the way of Your justifications, and I will seek and take away: Give me understanding, and I will try Your law, and I will keep it with all my heart. Guide me on the path of Your commandments, as I desire. Incline my heart to Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes, so as not to see vanity, let me live in Your way.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Place Your word in Thy fear. Take away my reproach, even though it is not pschevah: for Thy fate is good. Behold, I have desired Your commandments; live in Your righteousness. And may Thy mercy come upon me, Lord, Thy salvation according to Thy word. And I answer those who reproach my word: for I have trusted in Your words. And do not take away from my lips the words that are truly true, for I have trusted in Your fate. And I will keep Your law forever and ever. And I walked in breadth, because I sought Your commandments. And I spoke of Your testimonies before the kings, and was not ashamed: And I learned in Your commandments, which I have loved dearly: And I lifted up my hands to Your commandments, which I have loved, and mocked at Your justifications. Remember Your words to Your servant, in whose hope You gave me. Comfort me in my humility, for Your word lives on me. I am proud of the lawbreaker; I have not deviated from Your law. I will remember Your destinies from time immemorial, O Lord, and those who are comforted. I receive sorrow from sinners who forsake Your law.

Thy vindication was blown to me, at the place of my coming. I will remember Your name in the night, O Lord, and keep Your law. This will come to me as a justification for Your demands. Thou art my part, O Lord, determined to preserve Thy law. I have prayed to Your face with all my heart, have mercy on me according to Your word.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

I have thought of Thy ways, and returned my nose to Thy testimonies. I have prepared and am not embarrassed to keep Your commandments. The sinner has already obligated himself to me, and has not forgotten Your law. At midnight I rose to confess to You about the destinies of Your righteousness. I am a partaker of all who fear You and keep Your commandments. Fill the earth with Thy mercy, O Lord: teach me Thy justification. Thou hast done kindness to Thy servant, O Lord, according to Thy word. Teach me kindness and discipline and reason, as we have Your commandments of faith.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Before we even humble ourselves, we have sinned: for this reason I have kept Your word. Thou art good, O Lord, and by Thy goodness teach me by Thy justification. Multiply the unrighteousness of the proud among me, and I will test Your commandments with all my heart. Their hearts are as wet as milk, and I have learned Your law. It is good for me, for Thou hast humbled me, that I may learn by Thy justification. The law of Your mouth is good to me, more than thousands of gold and silver.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Thy hands create me and create me: give me understanding, and I will learn Your commandments. Those who fear You will see me and rejoice, because they trust in Your words. I understand, Lord, that the truth of Thy destiny, and Thou hast truly humbled me. Be Thy mercy, that Thy servant may comfort me according to Thy word. May Thy compassions come to me, and I will live, for Thy law is my teaching. Let them be ashamed of pride, for it is your unrighteousness that is lawless against me, but I will mock Your commandments. Let those who fear You and those who know Your testimonies convert me. Be my heart blameless in Your righteousness, so that I will not be ashamed. My soul disappears for Your salvation, I trust in Your words. My eyes are lost in Your word, saying: when You comfort me; I was like fur on my face; I have not forgotten Your justifications. How many are the days of Your servant; when you bring judgment upon me from those who persecute me; The transgressors told me mockery, but not like Your law, O Lord. All Your commandments are true: having persecuted me unjustly, help me.

For a little while you will not end me on the earth: I have not forsaken Your commandments.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Live according to Your mercy, and I will keep the testimonies of Your mouth. For ever, Lord, Your word remains in Heaven. Thy truth forever and ever. You founded the earth and it remains. The day endures through Your teaching, for every work is Yours.

Then we sing or read the following verses with chorus three times:

If only Thy law had not been my teaching, then I would have perished in my humility. I will never forget Your justifications, for You have revived me in them.

Chorus: Remember, O Lord, the souls of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Lord, have mercy (40 times).

Кафисма 17-я (2)

Remember, O Lord our God, in faith and hope the life of your eternal departed servant (your departed servant, your departed servants) (their names), and as you are good and a lover of mankind, let go sins, and consume unrighteousness, weaken, leave, and forgive all his (her) voluntary and involuntary sins, restoring him (her) to Your holy second coming in the communion of Your eternal blessings, for whose sake there is only one faith in You, the true God and lover of mankind; for Thou art the resurrection and life, and rest unto Thy servant (Thy servant, Thy servant) (their names), Christ our God, and to Thee we ascribe glory, with Thy beginningless Father, and with By the Most Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, amen.

I am Yours, save me: as I justify Your demands.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Lest I wait for a sinner to destroy me, I understand Your testimonies. We have seen the end of every death; broad is Your commandment. Since I have loved Your law, O Lord, I have my teaching all day long. Moreover, my enemy has made me wise according to Your commandment, even as I am in my age. Above all those who taught me, I understood that Your testimonies are my teaching. Moreover, the old man understood that Your commandments were required. I have forbidden my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your words. I have not deviated from Your judgments, as You have laid down for me. How sweet is Your word to my throat, more than honey to my lips. I understood from Your commandments, therefore I hated every way of unrighteousness. The lamp of my feet is Your law, and the light of my paths. I swore and vowed to preserve the fate of Your righteousness. I have humbled myself to the utmost, Lord, live according to Your word.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Be pleased with the freedom of my lips, O Lord, and teach me Thy destinies. I will take my soul into Your hand, and I will not forget Your law. I have laid a net for sinners, and I will not go astray from Your commandments. I will inherit Your testimonies forever, for the joy of my heart is. I bow my heart to create Your justifications forever for reward. I hated the lawbreakers, but I loved Your law. You are my Helper and My Protector, I trust in Your words.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Depart from me, you wicked ones, and I will test the commandments of my God. Intercede for me according to Your word, and I will live, and do not put me to shame because of my desire. Help me, and I will be saved, and I will learn from Your justifications. Thou hast brought to naught all who turn away from Thy justifications, for their thoughts are unrighteous. All the sinners of the earth have transgressed, for this reason I have loved Thy testimonies. Nail Thy fear into my flesh, for I am afraid of Thy judgments. I have created justice and righteousness; do not betray me to those who offend me.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Consider Your servant for good, so that the pride does not slander me. My eyes disappear for Thy salvation and for the word of Thy righteousness. Do unto Thy servant according to Thy mercy, and teach me Thy righteousness. I am Thy servant: give me understanding, and let me know Thy testimonies. It is time for the Lord to do: I have destroyed Your law. Therefore, for the sake of those who love Thy commandments, they are worth more than gold and topaz. For this reason I have been guided to all Your commandments; I have hated every way of unrighteousness. Wonderful is Your testimony, for this reason I have tried my soul. The manifestation of Your words enlightens and admonishes little children. My mouth was opened, and I drew the spirit, as I desired Thy commandments.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Look upon me and have mercy on me, according to the judgment of those who love Your name.

Direct my steps according to Your word, and let not all iniquity possess me. Deliver me from the slander of men, and I will keep Your commandments. Make Thy face shine upon Thy servant, and teach me by Thy justification. My eyes know the coming of the waters, but I have not kept Your law. Thou art righteous, O Lord, and Thy judges are right. Thou hast commanded the truth of Thy testimony and the truth. Thy jealousy has consumed me, for I have forgotten Thy words against mine. Your word is kindled with great heat, and Your servant loves it. I am the youngest and humbled, I have not forgotten Your justifications.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and your law is truth. Having found me through sorrow and need, Your commandments are my teaching. The truth of Your testimony endures forever; give me understanding, and I will live. I cried with all my heart, hear me, O Lord, I will seek your righteousness. I called upon You, save me, and I will keep Your testimonies. I went ahead in hopelessness and cried out, trusting in Your words. Prepare my eyes for the morning, that I may learn Your words. Hear my voice, Lord, according to Your mercy: live for me according to Your destiny. Those who persecute me with lawlessness have drawn near, but have departed from Your law. You are near, Lord, and all your ways are true. From the beginning I knew from Your testimonies that I founded You in the age. See my humility and forgive me, for I have not forgotten Your law.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Judge my judgment and deliver me, for Thy word let me live. Salvation is far from the sinner, for I have not sought Your justifications. Your bounty is many, Lord, live for me according to your destiny. The many who drove me out and besieged me, did not turn away from Your testimonies. I have seen those who do not understand and have ceased to keep Your words. See, as I have loved Your commandments, O Lord, live me according to Your mercy. The beginning of Your words is truth, and the whole destiny of Your righteousness endures forever. The princes have driven me into oblivion, and my heart has feared because of Your words. I will rejoice in Your words, for I have gained much gain. I have hated and detested injustice, but I have loved Your law.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

During the seventh day we praise You about the destinies of Your righteousness. There is peace for many who love Your law, and there is no temptation for them. I have longed for Your salvation, O Lord, and I have loved Your commandments. Preserve your testimonies, my soul, and love you dearly. I will keep Your commandments and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You, Lord. May my prayer come near before You, O Lord, according to Your word, make me understand. May my petition come before You, O Lord; deliver me according to Your word.

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

My lips will burst forth with song, when Thou teachest me by Thy righteousness. My tongue proclaims Your words, for all Your commandments are true. Let Thy hand be to save me, as Thy commandments are willful. I have desired Your salvation, O Lord, and Your law is my teaching.

Then we sing or read the following verses with chorus three times:

My soul will live and praise You, and Your fate will help me

Chorus: Rest, O Lord, the soul of Thy servant (the soul of Thy servant, Thy handmaid).

Psalm 50

[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin {is} ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done {this} evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, {and} be clear when thou judgest.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. {conceive...: Heb. warm me}
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden {part} thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; {that} the bones {which} thou hast broken may rejoice.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. {right: or, constant}
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me {with thy} free spirit.
{Then} will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: {and} my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. {bloodguiltiness: Heb. bloods}
O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give {it}: thou delightest not in burnt offering. {else...: or, that I should}
The sacrifices of God {are} a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
