It behoveth to know, how during this great week of Pascha, even until the Sabbath, at hours and vespers, thus they sing.

Risen the Lord in the Virgin's womb, we bow to the Holy One, the Only Begotten. We kiss Thy hand, O Christ, and sing Thy Resurrection and glorify it: for Thou art God our King, and if not thus do we know Thee, we call Thee by Thy Name. Come all ye faithful, let us bow to the Holy One's Resurrection: for behold, joy cometh to all the world through His coming in glory. At dawn on the morrow of Mary, having found a stone rolled from the tomb, they heard an angel say: In the light of the present, seek not among the dead what you are looking for; behold the linen cloths, go forth, and preach peace, for He has risen, the Dead One, for He is the Son of God, saving the race of man. If thou didst descend into the grave, O Immortal One, Thou didst destroy the power of hell by Thy might, and didst rise again as Victor, O Saviour, Who wast foreshowing to the myrrh-bearing women: Rejoice! And with Thy Apostles Thou gavest peace, and to the fallen Thou gavest resurrection. [Eidinišči.]

In the grave by bodily death, in Hades with the soul of God, in Paradise with the robber, and on the cross Thou wast, O Saviour, with Thy Father and the Spirit, fulfilling that which was not written.

O Life-giving One, O most beautiful in truth and verily the image of every royal glory shining brightest, Theotokos, thy tomb, fount of our Resurrection, showeth forth thy light.
