Mercy stood still in the hearts of three youths: Glory be, the flame enflames three young men.

O Soul/Spirit and our God, blessed art Thou.

Blessed art thou, Lord, God of our fathers, praised and glorified be thy name for ever.

As Most High, Thou art of all things,
Who didst create us and all that Thou hast made,
And verily Thy works are true,
And Thy way is right,
And Thy judgments are righteous.

And truly Thou hast fashioned the fates of all, since Thou didst bring upon us and upon the holy city our priests: for truly Thou hast brought upon us all our sins for the sake of our fathers.

We have sinned and have acted unlawfully, departing from Thee, and we have grievously sinned in all things.

And we have not kept thy commandments, neither observed them nor fulfilled them, as thou commandedst us, that good might come to us.

And all things, wherewith Thou hast created us, and all things, whatsoever Thou hast brought upon us, by a true judgment hast Thou wrought.

And Thou didst deliver us into the hands of wicked lawless enemies, and unto a king unjust and more crafty than all the earth.

And now there is not for us to open our mouth, nor study nor confession we have made, O Lord, by Thy servants and them that seek Thee.

Let not thy name be profaned unto the end for the sake of our name, and let not the covenant of thy name be broken.

And I, not leaving Thee without, as Abraham beloved of Thee, and for Isaac Thy servant, and Jesus Thy Son:

And Thou hast said: To multiply them, as the stars of heaven, and as the sand upon the shore of the sea.

O Master, because we have sinned more than all languages, and today by our sins we have fallen upon the whole earth.

And there is no ruler, prophet, or leader in this time: neither burnt offerings, nor sacrifices, nor oblations, nor censers; nor any place to eat before Thee and find mercy.

But with a broken spirit and a humble soul let us receive.

As in all our sacrifices of the old and the new, and as in the thick clouds of the lamb: may our sacrifice today before Thee be acceptable, and may it be accomplished according to Thy will, for there is no student longing for Thee.

And now we follow all with our whole heart, and we fear Thee and seek Thy face.

Let not Thy glory be dishonored by us, but work in us according to Thy meekness and the multitude of Thy mercies.

Transform us by Thy wonders, and grant Thy name glory, Lord.

And may all who rule by thy servants be confounded, and may they be ashamed from every power, and the strength of theirs be crushed.

And let them understand, for Thou art the Lord God alone, and glorious throughout all the world.

And the servants of the King did not cease to pour out with fire, burning with naphtha, and pitch, and resin, and bitumen.

And let the flame be kindled over the abyss on the altar forty-nine.

And abide, and burn, where ye shall find the ways of the Chaldees.

And the Angel also came down in compunction with them that were present at the feast.

And let there shake from the flame of the fiery furnace out of the mountain,

And Thou hast created the midst of the waters, as the Spirit murmuring upon them: neither hath any one touched them with fire, nor grieved them, beneath which they lie.

Then with one accord we went up into the mountain together, and blessed and glorified God in the cave, saying:

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, remembering Thee, O Lord.

Blessed art thou, Lord, God of our fathers, most venerable and exalted for ever.

And most glorious and fearful and to be praised beyond telling throughout the ages.

Blessed art thou in the house of thy glory, O Venerable, praised and exalted for ever.

Blessed art thou, O Seeing the Void, Sitting upon the Cherubim, Praised and Lifted Up for Ages Eternally.

Blessed art thou, O Theotokos, in the throne of glory thy worship is celebrated, Venerable and exalted for ever.

Blessed art thou on the firmament more heavenly, mighty and exalted for ever.

Glory, and now:
