Mercy stood still in the hearts of three youths: Glory be, the flame enflames three young men.

O Soul/Spirit of our God, blessed art Thou.

Blessed art thou, Lord, God of our fathers, praised and glorified be thy name for ever.

Thou art the Fount of all,
Who hast created us,
And Thy works are true and right,
And Thy ways and judgments true.

And Thou hast truly brought forth judgment, O Lord, by which Thou didst bring upon us and upon the holy city our priests: for verily and with judgment Thou didst bring upon us all our sins for the sake of our fathers.

We have sinned and have acted unlawfully, departing from Thee, and we have grievously sinned in all things.

And we have not kept thy commandments, neither observed them nor fulfilled them, as thou commandedst us, that good might come to us.

And all things, wherewith Thou hast created us, and all things, whatsoever Thou hast brought upon us, by a true judgment hast Thou wrought, O Lord.

And Thou didst deliver us into the hands of wicked lawless enemies, and unto a king unjust and more crafty than all the earth.

And now there is not for us to plead, study and affliction have we suffered as thy servants and worshippers.

Let not our soul reach the uttermost end in Thy name, and let not the covenant of Thy name be profaned.

And I, not leaving Thee without, for Abraham's sake beloved by Thee, and for Isaac Thy servant, and Jesus Thy Son:

And Thou hast said: To multiply them, as the stars of heaven, and as the sand upon the shore of the sea.

Alas, Master, we have sinned more than all languages, and we are sinful in all the earth today for our sins.

There is neither ruler nor prophet nor leader:
neither sacrifice consumed, neither offering,
neither incense, nor place to eat before Thee
nor find mercy.

But with a broken spirit and a humble soul let us receive.

As in all our burnt offerings and sin offerings, and as in the thick clouds of the lamb: may our sacrifice today before Thee be accepted, and may it be accomplished according to Thy will, for there is no delay for those who hope in Thee.

And now we follow all with our whole heart, and we fear Thee and seek Thy face.

Let not Thy glory be dishonored by us, but work in us according to Thy meekness and the abundance of Thy mercy.

Transform us by Thy wonders, and grant unto His name glory, Lord.

And may all who rule by thy servants be shamed, and may they be put to confusion from every power, and the strength of theirs be crushed.

And let them understand, for Thou art the Lord God alone, and glorious throughout all the world.

And the servants of the King did not cease to pour out with fire, burning pitch and tar, and resin, and bitumen.

And let the flame be kindled over the pit upon the altar forty-nine.

And abide, and burn, where ye shall find the ways of the Chaldees.

And the Angel also came down into the cave with those that were with him in the region thereof.

And let there shake forth a fiery flame from the rock,

And Thou didst create the midst of the waters, because the Spirit moving upon them: neither did they touch one another with fire, nor was there any harm to them, beneath them.

Then with one accord we went up on high into the cave, and blessed and glorified God, saying:

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, remembering Thee, O Youth.

Blessed art thou, Lord, our God, Jesus Christ, most venerable and exalted for ever.

Blessed be the glory of Thee, O Holy One, venerated and exalted for ever.

Blessed art thou, O Seeing the Void, Sitting upon the Cherubim, Praised and Lifted Up for Ages.

Blessed art thou, O Theotokos, on the throne of glory in thy worship, Venerable and exalted for ever.

Blessed art thou on the firm heavens above, venerable and exalted for ever.

Glory, and now:
