Mercy stood still in the hearts of three youths: Glory be, the flame enlightens three young men.

O Soul/Spirit of our God, blessed art Thou.

Blessed art thou, Lord, God of our fathers, glorious and praised be thy name for ever.

Thou art the Beginning, O Lord, from Whom hast created us all, and Thy works are true and righteous, and Thy ways and judgments true.

And Thou hast truly brought to pass judgment, O Lord, by which Thou didst bring upon us and upon the holy city our priests: for truly and justly hast Thou brought upon us all our sin.

We have sinned and have acted unlawfully, departing from Thee, and we have grievously sinned in all things.

And we have not kept thy commandments, nor observed them, nor fulfilled them, as thou commandedst us, that good might come to us.

And all things, which Thou hast created for us, and all things, whatsoever Thou hast brought upon us, by a true judgment hast Thou wrought.

And Thou didst deliver us into the hands of wicked lawless enemies, and unto a king unjust and more crafty than all the earth.

And now there is not for us to plead, nor study nor affliction have we borne as thy servants and them that seek thee.

Let not our soul reach the uttermost end in Thy name, and let not the covenant of Thy name be destroyed,

And I have not left thee without mercy, for Abraham's sake whom Thou lovedst, and for Isaac Thy servant, and Jesus Thy Son.

And Thou hast said: To multiply them, as the stars of heaven, and as the sand upon the shore of the sea.

Almighty Master, we have humbled ourselves more than all languages, and today we confess our sin upon the whole earth for our own sake.

There is neither prince nor prophet, neither leader:
Nor sacrifice consumed, nor offering,
Nor incense, nor place where anything may be eaten before Thee,
Nor find we mercy.

But with a broken spirit and a humble soul let us receive.

As in all our burnt offerings and sin offerings, and as in the thick clouds of the lamb: may our sacrifice today before Thee be such that there is no studier thereof.

And now we follow all with our whole heart, and we fear Thee and seek Thy face.

Let not Thy glory be dishonored by us, but work in us according to Thy meekness and the abundance of Thy mercy.

Transform us by Thy wonders, and grant Thy name glory, Lord.

And may all rulers who rule by Thy servant be shamed and confounded, and may the strength and power of every one of them be crushed.

And let them understand, for Thou art the Lord God alone, and glorious throughout all the world.

And the servants of the King did not cease to pour out with fire, and with naphtha, and with resin, and with sulfur.

And let the flame be kindled over the abyss on the altar forty-nine.

And I abide, and I shall burn, wherefore ye shall find them strangers.

And the Angel also came down in compunction with them that were present at the feast.

And let there shake forth a fiery flame from the rock,

And Thou hast created the middle way, because the Spirit murmuring like a whisper: and they shall not touch them with one flame, nor grieve them, beneath which they lie.

Then three together in one went forth, and blessed, and glorified God in the cave, saying:

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept,
thinking upon Zion.

Blessed art thou, O Lord, God of our fathers, most venerable and exalted for ever.

And most glorious and fearful and to be praised beyond ages, O Holy One.

Blessed art thou, O Seeing the void, sitting upon the cherubim, praised and lifted up for ever.

Blessed art thou, O Theotokos, on the throne of glory in thy worship, Venerable and exalted for ever.

Blessed art thou on the heights heavenlier, O venerable and exalted for ever.

Glory, and now:
