Mercy stood still in the hearts of three youths: Glory be, the flame kindles three young men.

O Comforter, and our God, blessed art Thou.

Blessed art thou, Lord, our God, glorious and praised be thy name for ever.

Thou art the Beginning, O Lord, from Whom hast created us all, and Thy works are true and righteous, and Thy ways and judgments true.

And Thou hast truly brought forth the judgment, O Lord, by which Thou didst bring upon us and upon our holy priesthood a most severe trial: for verily and with justice Thou didst bring upon us all our sins.

We have sinned and have acted lawlessly, departing from Thee, and we have grievously sinned in all things.

And we have not kept thy commandments, nor observed them, nor fulfilled them, as thou commandedst us, that good might come to us.

And all things, which Thou hast created for us, and all things, which Thou hast brought upon us, didst Thou make with a true judgment.

And Thou didst deliver us into the hands of wicked lawless enemies, and unto a king unjust and more crafty than all the earth.

Now we have no strength to pray, nor study and confession we have done as thy servants and worshippers.

Let us not be delivered into the hands of the end and by the name of Thine for aught, nor violate the covenant of Thine.

And I have not left thee without comfort, for Abraham's sake whom Thou didst love, and for Isaac, Thy servant, and Ishmael, the son of Thy handmaid.

And Thou hast said: To multiply them, as the stars of heaven, and as the sand upon the shore of the sea.

Alas, Master, we have sinned more than all languages, and we are sinful in all the earth today for our sins.

There is no ruler, prophet, or leader in time: neither sacrifice consumed nor offerings, neither incense, nor place to eat before Thee and find mercy.

But with a broken spirit and a humble soul let us receive.

As in all our burnt offerings and sin offerings, and as in the thick clouds of the lamb: may our sacrifice today before Thee be accepted, and may it be accomplished according to Thy will, for there is no student longing after Thee.

And now we follow with all our hearts, and we fear Thee and seek Thy face.

Do not bring shame upon us, but work in us according to Thy meekness and the abundance of Thy mercy.

Transform us by Thy wonders, and grant Thy name glory, Lord.

And may all who rule by thy servants be confounded, and may they be ashamed from every power, and the strength of theirs be crushed.

And let them understand, for Thou art the Lord God, One and Alone, and glorious throughout all the world.

And the servants of the King did not cease to pour out upon them, by means of a flame of fire, and with pitch, and with resin, and with brimstone.

And let the flame be kindled over the threshold on the altar forty-nine.

And abide, and burn, where ye shall find the astrologers.

And the Angel also came down in compunction with them that were present at the feast.

And let there shake from the flame of the fiery furnace out of the mountain,

And Thou hast made the middle passage, because the Spirit, murmuring like the sound of waters: neither hath it touched them with one another, nor hath it grieved them beneath it.

Then three together in one went forth, and blessed, and glorified God in the cave, saying:

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, remembering Thee, O Youth.

Blessed art thou, Lord, our God, Jesus Christ, most venerable and highly exalted for ever.

And most glorious and fearful and to be praised beyond praise throughout the ages.

Blessed art thou in the house of thy glory, O Holy and exalted in the ages.

Blessed art thou, O Seeing the Void, Sitting upon the Cherubim, Praised and Lifted Up for Ages.

Blessed art thou, O Lord, upon the throne of glory, thy creation, ever to be praised and exalted for ages upon ages.

Blessed art thou on the firmament more heavenly, O Most Holy and exalted in ages.

Glory, and now:
